“Leveraging influenza surveillance and immunization toward COVID-19 pandemic control”
16–18 September 2020, 10:00am–1:00pm (EDT, Washington, D.C.)
Virtual meeting via Zoom link
The Joint SARInet / REVELAC-i Regional Meeting held 16-18 September 2020 showcased how influenza surveillance and immunization systems formed a solid foundation for the region’s COVID-19 response. More than 270 participants from 41 countries and territories including collaborators from PAHO’s regional and country offices, WHO, CARPHA, and the WHO Collaborating Center at the U.S. CDC attended the meeting each day.
The three-day virtual meeting focused on how countries leveraged their influenza surveillance and immunization platforms towards the COVID-19 pandemic control. The meeting provided a scenario for illustrative presentations and exchange of experiences among participants.
PAHO’s regional team expresses its sincere gratitude to the presenters, participants, and collaborators for their contribution made during the meeting despite the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are already very excited and eager to see each other at the next SARInet meeting in 2021.
The agenda, presentations, and photographs for the three days are available here.
